What is a Home Inspection?

If it’s your first time buying a home, someone most likely recommended for you to get a home inspection done before you purchased the home. A home inspection is an important part of the home buying process and can save you headache, time and money in the long run.

Home inspections offer piece of mind and confidence when searching for your new home. During this non-invasive inspection, your home inspector will assess the overall condition of the home you are looking to purchase.

What Does A Home Inspection Include?

A residential home inspection includes:

• Structure of house
• Exterior of house
• Interior of house
• Electrical system
• Plumbing System
• Heating and cooling systems
• Roof
• Kitchen and appliances
• Garage and/or carport

In addition, standard home inspections include free thermal imaging. Thermal imaging is used to determine whether a house is properly insulated, has dangerous electrical connections and/or has possible leaks.

Example:

To the naked eye, the first picture shows no visible sign of moisture. The purple coloring in the second image indicates moisture (which was then verified with a moisture meter).
